Now in its 19th year, Ruthin & Denbigh Gymnastics Club Ltd operates from two sites and delivers a comprehensive Gym-For-All programme with a specialism in Team Gym to over 500 gymnasts per week.
Our Clwyd House Permanent Gymnastics Training Facility in Denbigh is open 7 days per week and has allowed significant expansion of classes in 2017 and into 2018.
We began as Ruthin Gymnastics Club back in the millenium year of 2000, established by Daniel Joyce and Mel Royles. Tamsin Jones became Head Coach of Ruthin Gymnastic Club in 2004 and opened Denbigh Gymnastics Club in 2005 and Llangollen Gymnastics Club in 2011. Following the opening of Clwyd House Dedicated Gymnastics Training Facility in 2017, we became the not-for-profit, limited by guarantee Ruthin & Denbigh Gymnastics Club Ltd.
Ruthin & Denbigh Gymnastics Club's Development Pathway reflects the clubs constitutional, inclusive grass-roots philosophy, to offer "Gym For All" classes to as many children as possible in Denbighshire.
The aim of this club is to coach each individual child to reach their full potential in gymnastics within a safe, effective, child-centered, fun learning environment.
We specialise in Team Gym and our competitive teams represent the club at competitions across the UK.
We also offer gymnastics-themed parties at our Clwyd House Centre. Please click the button below to learn more.
Every coach will endeavour to develop each child with a prospect to progress from the Recreational "Gym For All" Classes to the Club-Level Sessions. For those aspiring to higher-performance gymnastics, we offer a DO MORE "Perfect Basics" and Competition Pathway.
Safe, Effective, Child-Friendly
We provide a child/member-centred, coach-led programme and we endeavour to help every child reach their optimum level of performance.
Our coaches are all British Gymnastics qualified coaches at the appropriate level and have been screened for their suitability to work with children. A Welfare Officer has been appointed by the Club to monitor good practice, as the club takes its welfare responsibilities very seriously.
Why Take Part in Gymnastics?
"In our sports club, disabled and non-disabled boys and girls are actively encouraged to Join Us" --Tamsin Jones, Director
Gymnastics is a wonderful sport for boys and girls, and will help them develop coordination, strength, balance and flexibility, which are the fundamentals underpinning all other sports. It can also build self-esteem, and improve skills such as self-discipline and concentration. Plus, being a gymnast is a lot of fun!
"Our vision is to unite a proud sporting nation. We aspire to getting every child hooked on sport for life and for Wales to be a nation of champions." --Sports Wales
"Based on the notion that gymnastics is a sport for everybody, Gymnastics for All is the flagship discipline of the sport.
Offering a variety of activities, programmes, events and competitions suitable for all genders, age groups and abilities, Gymnastics for All contributes to personal health, fitness and well-being."
